Spain is a beautiful country to be in for those who wish to enjoy the sun and very nice warm weather.  It is great for holidays, short stays, or permanent living, for the young, the children as well as the parents, the single and those who are happily retired, therefore good for all!  Warm weather, sunshine and beaches one can find other places in the world as well but there are several factors that should be considered when you think about Spain.

Alicante

Alicante is one of the larger cities in the Costa Blanca. It's a 30 minte drive up the coast from Guardamar, and an absolute must-see. With many old cathedrals, churches and historical buildings, Alicante has a magical atmosphere. It also has a large, modern harbor, and plenty of shopping opportunities! When the sun goes down, the volume goes up, and the old town fills with vibrant life, typical restaurants and tapas bars.

Elche

The city of Elche (also written Elx in Valencian) is also just a short drive inland from Guardamar, and is surrounded by citrus and olive orchards. Recognized for its art and tradition and its palm trees, Elche was named a World Heritage Site in 2001. Yes, Elche is in fact the city in the world with the largest diversity of palm trees, with over 200 species! Because of its charm and uniqueness, it was declared the "twin rown" of Toulouse in France.

Murcia

Considering the wealth of toursit opportunities in the Region of Murcia, it almost seems that the Region would like to keep them secret. More often than not, areas of tourist interests are found by accident!

From a tourist point of view, Spain and Murcia itself offer you a huge amount of interesting places to visit as the history of the city goes back to the years 800 where it was originally founded as part of Cordoba. Vertainly amongst the famous visiting points for any traveller is the fantastik Cathedral of Santa Maria and the cute street cafes and restaurants in the old part of this modern city.

Spain is Europe's leading golf destination because of its many courses and resorts, and many Europeans have chosen to move to Spain due to this fact. A wonderful climate, a long golf season and many courses of international standard attract golfers from around the world.
